As soon as you start to care about something or someone, your setting yourself up for pain. Thats a phrase that I like to live by because as wrong as it might sound its the one thing that has never let me get hurt again. I view commitment as a weight on ones chest, slowly getting heavier and heavier until it brings you crashing down onto your pillow with a bucket of chocolate fudge ice-cream and a whirlwind of self-pity. If there is no commitment there is no attachments, obligations, responsibilities, etc. Running far, far away before making the situation worse is my normal course of action. I suppose its sort of a family trait. Its either that or getting someone to make some threatening phone calls for you.
